Day 7: B+W Photo Challenge

Day 7: B&W Photo Challenge

A scene from daily life. It’s not going to be daily. It’s just going to be a day each time. I don’t do daily.

For example, do I meditate every day? Yes, but... Sometimes my meditation is walking, sometimes it’s drinking a cup of tea, sometimes it’s breathing in the car while I wait... sometimes it’s actually sitting on a cushion with my eyes closed.

I used to believe that inconsistency was a deep fault in my character, but it’s not inconsistency. It’s all meditation. It’s variety, and I find a new way to get in touch with me everyday, whether it’s silently or out loud on social media. I’m forgiving myself embracing my variety.

This is the portal I walk through to access my creative workspace every day. (Almost every day).

After more than a year of searching for a space I could afford, that was big enough, that *felt right* and that was private, with parking available and near water, with mountains and greenery nearby, I opened up craigslist on my phone *one last time* totally exasperated, and said aloud “show me somewhere I’m supposed to be”

This place was listed that morning. My husband and I drove by with Ella to check it out. We called the landlord right away. We were the first people to look at it. We signed the lease on New Year’s Day 2020 while a hummingbird hovered outside the window.

I cannot imagine surviving this year without my own space, filled with fabric, yoga mats, candles, magic.

How many times have I lamented that this space was supposed to be to gather in person? Maybe we will find a way to gather alone...together.

Would you be interested in a virtual retreat? Some way to get back in touch with your inner artisan? A time/place to start small with a ritual, togetherness, learning, experimenting and practicing alone...together? Let me know if that’s something appealing to you. Coming next month, I will be launching Sewing is Magic and I’m really excited to share it with you.
